Where can I see my API Key?
-
I am probably an idiot, but I’m completely confused on the whole API Key thing. Basically, I own my own site: caitchock.com but have imported a WordPress Theme. I belong to wordpress.com and signed up for a blog there, but don’t have anything posted.
At my website, caitchock.com, I want to activate the Askimet Plug-in and it’s asking for an API Key. I have two questions:
1) Where would I find my API Key, I looked at the FAQ section and all they say is that it’s secret and personal, but where can I see mine?
2) I see something about ‘Changing the API Key for an Externally Hosted Blog,’ do I need to do that if my website is using WordPress format and I blog? If I need to do that I’m still a bit confused how to do that.
Thanks so much for anyone who doesn’t mind helping!

Hi there,
If you log into your WordPress.com account and visit http://apikey.wordpress.com, your API key will appear on the screen. You can then use this API key to activate both Akismet and Jetpack.
