Where can I upload mp3’s for the new WP audio player?

@timethief
Sorry I missed your comment somehow. My pleasure. You’re quite welcome to try it out. The feedback has been good so far, save for one glitch that was ironed out in the tutorial’s comment section. Since it’s been a few days and I’ve heard no other problems, I’m becoming confident it’s a really good way to utilyze the player. -
we talked earlier in this thread about the the troubles of using a live link, and i found that for me if the its a live link it doesnt seem to work at all, so i was just wondering if there is a easier way to deactivate the link. I hate to have to re-type out our the URL each time, and most times it just turns into an active link again. Any ideas?

If you use the visual editor there’s an icon button that breaks the links. Just click anywhere in the link and hit the broken link button and that’s it.

Joe, the website that you mentioned for mp3 file storage (and playable) is quite good, but I just wish that wordpress will add the slide-player plugin somewhere in the Dashboard so I don’t need to scan my old post just to get the code of this player.
-
The code of the player? Isn’t the code just [audio= whatever the MP3 URL is]? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Chelsea, I’ve never had the live link problem. Are you maybe not using the code tab every time? As for typing it out — I really hope you’re copy/pasting the URL instead of eyeballing it…
I’m not sure how you guys roll when you’re posting, but I always have a blank text file open to store whatever I’m going to need to paste-in later. I’d also suggest making a cheat-sheet text file for code that isn’t on the dash; e.g., if I want to change my font-family and/or size.
knoizki, I’m glad that helped, but yeah, the code is pretty easy to remember. If not, cheat-sheets are a good idea anyway.

yes i do copy and paste, but up until a while ago i didnt know that you could just break the link with a button (thanks raincoaster). For me if its a live link it doesnt work at all the audio player says error, but when i break the link within the brackets it works properly everytime.
Your ideas for cheat-sheets are good, I might try that out as well -
I have one problem: the player stays still at “buffering” position.
It’s said that, free accounts as well can use the new feature that allow to post music in the blog, as long as we can find somewhere to host our files.
I have an mp3 hosted elsewhere and I believed I’m using the correct URL in tag [audio http://.....]. The URL ends with *.mp3 (not *.html or something). But the player just sits on “buffering”!!!….
Can anyone, please, help me to solve this problem?
Thank you so much!!
everyone can use the new audio tag to play mp3 files from anywhere on the Internet. Copy the following into a blog post to see it in action:

Sorry, something went wrong with my post!
This is the correct one:I have one problem: the player stays still at “buffering” position.

I’m finding that the player plays back the .mp3 file (podcast) far too fast. Anyone else suffer this problem? Is there a workaround?
-
Yes, I have that problem with some of my MP3s. The player can’t handle older encoding, so what you and I apparently need to do is download the MP3s to our desktops and re-encode them to something more modern. I’ve tried, but the MediaCoder program recommended for that crashes my machine. I just took down the audio player and stuck up the MP3 itself so people can download it. It plays just fine in most desktop software, but not in Odeo or our WordPress player, because they’re not sophisticated enough to handle it.
Very annoying, Sorry, no other workaround.

host your mp3’s and all other kind of media files at archive.org, no space limit and direct link…also renders a m3u playist in case u need it

If anyone opt to use esnips.com to host music files, here’s what I did to make it work; First click on your mp3 file, then a player will come up with related buttons below it. Right click on the “Download” button and paste it in the [audio paste-here] code. Your url should bear an ending something like “forceDL”
Hope this helps.

This could have something to do with mp3 url redirects (to count hits) from odeo this can sometimes cause a problem with flash mp3 players if the redirection is not done correctly.
