Where did my content go?

    I had a site registereed as amichiganthing.com. I acknowledge it is not active, but my posts and data should all be there. It was there until recently. I had an issue with an extension in error I was never able tor reconcile. I was offered support and I continued to pay in spite of no resolution. Now it appears, all of my posts have been removed, I do not see where I can renew my mymichiganthing.com domain. I have received notice it is up for renewal, but again, I see nowhere I can do this. To review: the links, posts, and domain are all gone. I show an empty history of purchases, etc. I cannot even think of renewing a plan or building a new site. It is hard to consider doing business with a company that purges my site data. Please respond.

    Both your sites amichiganthing.com and mymichiganthing.com are set to private, so you’ll have to wait untill a Staff member is available.

    Hey there,

    Now it appears, all of my posts have been removed, I do not see where I can renew my mymichiganthing.com domain

    I can see the site at https://amichiganthingcom.wordpress.com/ is active, but it’s under another account. Are you able to log out and log in as the site owner?

    Once you’ve done that, you can purchase the plan you need and connect the domain to the site.

    Regarding the content, by the way: try logging into the correct account first. If the site had a Business Plan that was allowed to expire, you’ll be missing plugins and themes, and in some cases the content added through those.

    So when you’re in the right account, I’d recommend checking for missing content, then if needed, immediately add a Pro account and contact support. Our staff can check to see if there are backups available still. You’ll just want to work quickly.

    I can find the URL, I know where the account is now, I just need to know how to renew the domain. I was sent a reminder, but it does not connect me to a place to make a payment. I have verified the email and phone #. The content is still missing.

    Hi there, mymichiganthing.com is attached to https://amichiganthingcom.wordpress.com/ which is a Private site.

    Both the domain and site belong to a different account here, not the one you’re currently logged in with.

    So, perhaps you have more than one account here? Try this:

    1. Log out of WordPress.com at https://wordpress.com/me

    2. Log back in under the email address that the renewal notification was sent to.

    3. If you do not recall the password for that account, we have some options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

    Once you’re logged in under the correct account, you’ll be able to renew your domain at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases
