Where Did My Domain Go?

    Hi All.

    Im stressing right now. A few weeks back I joined WordPress to create a website and have my own domain site. Which is HorganMagicDOTCOM. when I check availability for this. It said it was available. I proceeded to the payment page, but realised I didn’t get paid that week yet. So I left it until now. Which has been 4-5 weeks later. And it says it’s unavailable when I search for it on other websites to purchase. As new to WordPress. I don’t know how to navigate through the site. Is there somewhere I can see if I’m holding this domain until I complete my purchase?

    Hi there,

    It looks like HorganMagic.com is registered through a company called Enom, and the information about who owns it is private. If you did complete you transaction by chance and you are the owner you should have an email outlining the details of the registration and transaction.

    You could maybe look at other variations of the name if it isn’t you who owns HorganMagic.com.

    Hi horganmagic,

    It looks like someone registered the domain horganmagic.com on 19 June 2017. Unfortunately, you wouldn’t be able to use the domain since someone else has already registered it.

    You can find the public domain registration details here: https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=HorganMagic.com

    You could try a different domain name, like horgan-magic.com, for your WordPress.com site instead.

    Thank you guys. That’s very unfortunate. Seems like since the 4 weeks didn’t come back to register it. Someone else bought it in that small time frame. What is the best since you check if a domain is registered? And do you know of a site that not only checks domains, but uswernames too on social medias.

    You can check if a domain name is available here: https://wordpress.com/domains/

    There are lots of sites like namechk.com that allow you to check for available social media usernames.
