Where did my old posts go?
-
I had a bunch of post in 2014 and they are gone. I have no idea how it happened. Is there any way I can restore these posts? Another possibility is looking into the drafts. When a post is published, are all the drafts prior to the final copy got deleted also?

Please try placing an Archives widget https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/archives-widget/ in your sidebar so we can see if we can find them by using it.

I just added an Archive widget and confirmed they are gone. All the posts from my trip to Spain during the summer of 2014 have disappeared. I’m quite sad because the photos I took from this trip were very good.

Staff are working on improving post and page revisions. If you cannot restore from your browser, or locate a revision, or restore from Trash then the content has been lost and cannot be recovered.
re: recovering a lost post or page
Please go to https://wordpress.com/post with the same browser and see if it offers to restore a post. If a restore button appears, that means a local copy was saved in your browser and you may be able to recover it.If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Pages > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needed.

I looked into the links above and the post has to exist to view the revisions. I also looked into my Trash and Draft bins and found some old post but not the ones I’m looking for. I think I’m already subscribed to the post, and thanks so much for requesting Staff support on my behalf.

I looked into my Media Library and the images uploaded during my trip to Spain are still there.
Is there an option in WordPress that make a connection between an image and the post? This image was embedded in the post on June 3, 2014.
For example, https://knottyewe.wordpress.com/bull_fighting_in_seville-jpg/

Hi there! It looks like you moved a bunch of posts from 2014 to the trash about 3 months ago. 30 days after that, we permanently deleted them by clearing the trash.
It does not look like you removed the images, so those are still in your Media Library as you’ve discovered.

I don’t know how that happened. I thought that once a blog is posted, it can’t be deleted. I’m sorry the posts are gone but thanks so much for getting back to me.
