Hi Amanda,
Mailchimp installation requires code that is not allowed on WordPress.com sites.
However, Mailchimp provides alternate instructions to find your Signup form URL, so your readers can be linked to the hosted version of your form designed in MailChimp. on WordPress.com sites here:

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!

Hi there,
Thank you! How to I add the Contact Form to the main home page?
I can only figure out how to add it to a new or existing blog post.I have also tried to add it as a widget, which also doesn’t show up on my page. Could that be the theme? (theme is blissful blog)
Thank you.

Are you using Mailchimp’s contact form now? Or ours?
If you’re using Mailchimp’s, you’ll need to embed the URL as a link:
http://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/share-your-signup-form#Signup-form-URL
You can do this with an Image link or an Image Widget.
If you’re using our contact form, you’ll just need to copy the entire contact form code and paste it on the page or into the Text Widget.

If you’re using the Image Widget paste the link into the “Link URL” box. Make sure you add an image URL in the image URL box too.
If you’re using a Text Widget, here’s how you format a link:
