Where do I enter css and/or html?

  Maybe I’m just dense, but I have never been able to figure out where one enters css or html coding to customize my appearance. I have no problem doing this for my own personal (non-wordpress) web pages, but wordpress has me stymied. I’m sure it’s simple, but ….

  Any help greatly appreciated…

  You can hack a theme template free of charge on a WordPress.org install. You cannot edit templates or themes on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

  If you have CSS editing skills you can purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade.

  Thanks timethief. I failed to mention that I already purchased the custom upgrade. However, I’m afraid I don’t know what is meant by “hack a theme template…”

  Oops! I didn’t realize you had purchased the custom design upgrade. I’m sorry my language puzzled you. This upgrade comes with Staff support. Please be patient while waiting.

  “hack a theme template…”

  Change the base PHP code (not allowed here) – the changes at a.ORG install can be minor such as to add Post by Email or major changing completely how a theme works

  I know that the html and php aren’t customizeable. I’m just trying to find out where one enters the css.

  For example, on my personal web pages (completely unrelated to WP), I write code using a Notepad file associated with the web page. Here in WP, I’m just trying to find out what the analogous system is so I can make (or try to make) some minor changes to my basic theme using css.

  Once you purchase the Custom Design upgrade, it’s very easy to get started with editing your blog’s appearance. To begin, simply go to Appearance -> Custom Design in your blog’s dashboard. Then click on the CSS tab. The CSS Editor will then load.
