This is WordPress.COM support. Here there are no trial upgrades, no discounts, no coupons, no promo codes, no monthly payment plans, no bulk deal upgrades, and no multiple year upgrades. Also note that proforma invoices are not issued and purchase orders are not accepted.
Please contact whoever issued the coupon directly.

If you have received coupon code here’s how to use it:
Login your WordPress.com account and select your site which you want to upgrade your plan after that at the checkout page, you’ll able to see the option ”Have a coupon code?” at the checkout page just click on that link and type your coupon code over there and click ”Apply”.simply> login > My Sites> Choose your site > click on Plan> click on Upgrade > on checkout page type copoun code> click apply.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks to @timethief for tagging modlook so one of the staff will also reply this thread.
Best Wishes.

I deliberately did not post what you did as there is a confusion between credit and coupon codes and I want Staff to clear up the confusion. -

We don’t offer promotions in the way many companies do, but we do nevertheless have coupon codes now and then (often in a one-off situation). If you have a coupon code, you can indeed enter it where it says “Have a coupon code?” here:
https://wordpress.com/checkout/shadowlightaudio.wordpress.comIt’ll let you enter a code and apply it.
If instead you’re referring to the free domain with plan deal, that is a credit. If you buy a plan, you’ll get credit that covers one domain option for you. If staff applied credit (we sometimes do that if you need to refund and re-purchase immediately) you’ll see that credit before paying any leftover cost.
