1. on top of the browser window, on the WP bar which appears when you log in, click on MY SITES,
2. go down to PERSONALIZE. (themes) and click on the customize button.
3. Then find CSS and click on it which will take you to place where you can enter code. -
Hi there,
Custom css is a feature of the Business and Premium plans.
If you have upgraded to one of those plans, custom css can be added to your site in My Sites > Customize > CSS:

.site-main .widget-area {
background-color: #456789;
}but I want it to be a transparent background
and also I want to take the pink dots off the top header of the theme. I need to find that code -
.site-container {
background-image: none;
}this is for the pink dots but when i enter it nothing happens.

mmm, that’s what I would have done, too. So it’s obvious you know your way around using an inspector. I’m not exactly an expert at this. Just trying to help with what I can. I get a lot of help in here, and want to pay back when I can.
With some themes you can customize the background by going into the menu navigation, like we did above. Did you try that?

Wait for gary to respond. I will let him help you. He is one of the experts that helps me a lot. Good luck!

Yes I did and the background with the dots is part of theme and the gray section of the widget is also part of the theme. I found the codes in the forums but they didn’t take. IDK why.

Ok thank you. I have never messed with code before so I am way way way new. LOL. But am patient.

Also when I found other code that I want to use do I always put it in the additional CSS section or DO i have to add it to the style-editor section and If so where would I know to put the code for that section? There is so much in that editor.

TimeThief might be able to help you. You could be in the wrong forum. This forum is for WordPress.com which is substantially different from WordPress.org.

Is there also a way to make these icons centered and a bit larger where it says connect with tuesday on the side bar. I have 2 icons and want them larger and centered. http://www.tuesdayrobbins.com

Yes, it should go into the Additional CSS panel.
Oh and Gary I have my own hosting and I use wordpress .org
