Where do I report illegal content spam?
-
I have received a comment from an unfamiliar address. When I hit its url I am directed to an imeem page containing disturbing links. By title alone these links are not places I would want to go. Is there a protocol here?

In the comments section of your dashboard, at the far right of the line with the comment, simply click “spam” and it will be marked as spam. It may take a couple times before Akismet learns, but it will learn and from then on the comments will go directly to the spam filter.

Cheers for that. Already done. I’m keen to report this in a more useful way, if that’s possible, because the content is very dark. Am I just being naive, or is there some actual followup to grossly indecent content?

You would have to contact their ISP and lodge a complaint to see if it is against their terms of service. There is a lot of objectionable content on the web, some of it legal and some of it not.
Do a DNS lookup using one of the “whois” services. There should be a listing for reporting abuse.

If the problem is at imeem you need to contact them. I don’t recall an easy way to do that when I last looked there. But as tsp says, let akismet know.
