where do I save files?

To get the most from this guide, it would be a good idea to try out the code as we go along, so start a fresh new file with your text-editor and save the blank document as “web.css” in the same directory as your HTML file.

Hi, I’m just working my way through the tutorial but have hit a stumbling block. It’s asking me to save files in same directory as HTML file. However, my understanding is that all my files are hosted by wordpress and are in a wordpress server somewhere.

    Advice much appreciated.

You can put your CSS changes into the CSS edit window under Custom Design > CSS and then use the preview function to see how thing will look. There is no need, here at WordPress.com, to save a separate file, however I would suggest copying all your changes and such out and saving them to a plain text file (Notepad if on Windows or Text Edit if on Mac) just for safe keeping.

Things here at WordPress.com work a little differently in that regard.
