Where do I start???

  The “where do I start page” under FAQ was pretty useless. My dashboard doesn’t offer Presentations > themes. I own my domain name, but don’t want to start one at abc.wordpress.com and then have problems mapping to my domain name. will that be a problem? How do I get select a theme? HELP!!!

  that’s because you’re looking at the wrong place. this forum is for wp.com bloggers who are hosted by wp. you’re a self-hosted blogger who wants to use the wp software. for that you have to go to http://wordpress.org/support

  Instead of going straight to the FAQ, you should start with the thread marked Read Me First.

  where the heck is this ‘where do i start page’? i don’t see one with that title…

  this could be something to add into the faq, so self-hosted bloggers won’t look at the wrong faq.
