Where do you write a shortcode?
-
I can’t find where or how to add a shortcode to my blog. I have a widget (Nomad Map) on my primary sidebar that is not displaying the way I want. In the widget’s FAQ I’ve found the shortcode to use for my desired outcome, but I don’t know where or how to apply the code. It seems so simple, but I can’t figure it out.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have never heard of that Nomad map widget being used on a wordpress.COM blog. The only map widget we can use is google maps https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/
Shortcodes are entered into posts or pages. Please tell us exactly which authorized shortcode listed here https://en.support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/ you are asking about.

I found Nomad Map in the WordPress Plugin Directory after I searched for map widgets. It seems to display google maps on the blog but what I’m after is a feature that shows a line connecting all the places I’ve traveled in order to display my route and current location.
In the FAQ section it says to add this shortcode where you want to display your map: [nwm_map]
However, I never add this shortcode. I simply selected Nomad Map from Customize Site in the Dashboard. I added it to my Primary Sidebar and it displayed, but not with a line showing my route from location to location. In the FAQ it says to use this shortcode to enable the function I’d like: [nwm_map lines=”1″]
My problem is, I don’t know where to add this code because I never added the first one. This is not an authorized shortcode listed on the link you’ve provided. Here is a link to the information and the plugin I’m referring to https://wordpress.org/plugins/nomad-world-map/faq/

Hi timethief,
First off, thank you for responding to my support request. I wanted to give you an update to say I’ve figured out what I was doing wrong and how to correct the problem. The Nomad Map is now displaying properly on our blog and functioning exactly the way I wanted it to.
Once again, thanks for your support.
