Where has my classic mode of doing a new post, disappeared to?
-
How do I get rid of the Beep beep boop when I want to do a new post? I just want to go back to the Classic mode as if is far more user friendly.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to the My Sites link in the dark admin bar, and on the drop down, click WP-Admin and from there you can get to the classic editor.

Raincoaster, I followed your instructions but am not seeing an option. I dislike the new format so much I am considering moving back to Blogger (which I don’t like!).

How do you switch to the old classic editing mode? It used to give me the option, but now I don’t see it anywhere.
The new one is extremely frustrating. I used to have to double space in the old one in order for the post to have spaces in between paragraphs for the preview/ published post (as opposed to being in one big lump of words), but on this new one I’ve tried spacing up to three times and it still shows it as one big lump in the preview…
Does anyone know if there is any possible way I can switch to the old version?
Thanks!

The link to the classic editor that used to appear in the new editor previously has been removed by Staff.

Post here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-reinstate-the-option-of-choice-to-use-the-old-publishing-format?replies=179 and copy and paste that into the thread for Staff attention there.

Update:
The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. PLEASE make the Classic Mode the default! The new mode is not user-friendly at all! Can’t see all my categories nor my tags at a glance, making tagging and categorising very difficult.
If I want to make a new post, and I want to do it in Classic Mode, I have to go to my dashboard, click on Posts, then click on New. At the top, there is an option to switch to an ‘improved posting experience’ (yeah, right!), but once I’m in the ‘improved posting experience’ I can’t switch back!!
If I click on My Sites, then Blog Posts, then Add, I get this Beep Beep Boop nonsense and it takes me to the new mode and I can’t get to the Classic Mode at all!

@victorv13
That is not going to happen. Staff have said so since March 18th. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5#post-2316097To use the classic editor for creating and editing posts see here Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface

Thank you very much timethief!
I love Classic Mode, so, I’m tempted to do what you already did (WordPress.org install).

You’re welcome. I still have my WordPress.COM blogs hosted here and I still use the classic editor. The post I linked to above explains how to do that.
