Where has the "comment" icon gone from my blog?

The ability to comment no longer appears on my blog
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First, go to settings > discussion and make sure you have commenting turned on. If not, activate it and save changes. This will affect all future posts and pages you publish, but not the existing ones.
Next you will want to turn comments on for the existing posts and pages where you want people to be able to comment. You can use the bulk edit feature at pages > all pages and posts > all posts to do this quickly for multiple pages or posts.

The bulk edit idea worked, thank you. But will it now be on permanently or must I reset it for each new post?

No, as long as it is set to allow comments at settings > reading, you should be good to go. WordPress will remember many settings you make in the posts and page editor, so if you turn comments off for a particular post, the next post may require you to turn comments on for that post. You can activate the “discussion” module on the post and page editor pages by clicking the screen options tab at upper right and checking it. It will then appear down below the text area. That way you can keep an eye on it when writing posts and pages.
