WHERE have all my photo’s gone?????

Has anyone else had all their photos reduced to a box with an X in it?
It started this morning and I thought it might correct itself by now.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you’ve changed the theme that can sometimes cause this.
Otherwise you’ll just need to check to see if the images havent been deleted by accident.

trust me its happened a few times wheni had my blog here. Use the editor and check the images.
I found that if the images were still uploaded, then delete them from the post (not the server) then readd them. I think its something on the wordpress MU side.
Best bet would be to sign up for off site hosting, such as photobucket, they tend to be a bit less problomatic

This is REALLY freaking me out.
Can someone PLEASE inform me what is happening to the images on my blog.
I just read a post that someone left you a week ago stating that he had the same problem on his blog.
All his images were left as a block with an X in it (the same with me).
I have not messed with my theme or images.
They were all fine early this morning….now suddenly their gone!

I would agree with the previous comment about using photobucket. I generally use both wordpress and photobucket with the latter getting the majority of pics. Best of luck-I know how frustrating it is when something major goes awry with your blog!

Wait. Before you panic, tell me:
Where did you host your photos? WordPress, Flickr, ImageShack, where? Can you give me the URL of one of them that isn’t working, so I can test it?
DO NOT delete anything, don’t panic, don’t change a thing. Yet. Let’s look at it first and check things out.
I don’t see any X’s but I don’t see any images either at the moment. Don’t try to correct anything until we figure out what went wrong.

From what I can see, you host them at WordPress.com. Send an email to support at wordpress dot com immediately and ask staff to check it out. Looks like something got borked on their side. They’ve converted all your images into attachments on the code side.
You didn’t do that, did you? Of course not, why would you do that? But I have to ask.

As i said RC its something that happens on the server side, no idea why. It used to happen to me a lot for my anime blog. In the end i stopped using the WP space and moved to an external host, no more problems.

If you just do what i suyggested, re-edit themn back into the posts, they’ll be back again. Though do drop a email to support aswell -
Depending on where you host images, different things can happen.
I lost all my images on Photobucket when I ran out of bandwidth. It all just depends where they are what the problem could be.
I really wouldn’t recommend he re-upload all of his images for the entire blog. If something went systematically wrong on the back end, presumably it can be fixed systematically by whoever messed it up in the first place. That would be a staff thing.

I have recovered what I can without more server assistance.
If you can send in a support – use email at this domain – and list what is missing or tell me the posts to check for the filenames I’ll try to get the rest. -
RC i never said to reupload all the images, i said to RE-EDIT the posts. And you an i have had the photobucket debate already :) there are good and bad sides to every host, you had the bad, ive had the good so far.
But looks like marks fixed it anywhooo

Lately, I’ve been experiencing A LOT of “glitches” on my blog – so I apologize if I seemed annoyed (because I was) – I have no idea what’s going on with WordPress?????
Anyway Mark – there are still 4 images missing -they are on the most recent post and the one before that.
I not sure what your comment meant by “sending in support – using e-mail at this domain” Do you mean YOURS???
And what exactly do you need?
Url’s of each post?
jpg url’s?
Like I said – it’s the LAST two posts – and 4 images are missing.

I’ve checked for the 4 missing images.
I don’t know if they can be rescued – I need to wait for some advice on that.
If you have them is re-uploading a possibility?

Yes Mark, I can re-upload them if you think I should, but would it be better I wait and see if you figure something out?
And also…if I do re-upload them…should I remove (delet) the images from the post FIRST? Because on MY end, I can STILL see the image url within the post editor.

I don’t know when I’ll catch Demetrius online so if you do have them then yes, I’d upload.
Deleting the previous links is also the thing to do.I’ve flagged it so I don’t forget to find out what happened and see about the other images which might help if this occurs again for anyone.
