Where is appearance so I can change line spacing??

I have the free plan on my blog and I am trying to change the spacing between lines to singles rather than double spacing. I saw a video that said I have to find appearance then editor then style.css then I type in page.post then find line height and change it but I can’t find APPEARANCE

  • To change line spacing you would need access to custom CSS, which is available with the Premium or Business plans.

If you decide to upgrade your site you can get help with the CSS code you’ll need in the CSS Customization forum.

That said, there is an alternative way to accomplish this within your HTML editor. It’s a bit tedious as you’d have to repeat the code on every page and post you wanted to apply it to. Could you provide a link to a page or post where you want to tighten the spacing so I can have a look?

Those instructions only apply to self-hosted sites, where you’re running the WordPress software on your own hosting – not WordPress.com sites.

the inline CSS that @kathrynwp -works – bit tedious in that you need to add a bit of code to each Post or Page – but when I changed it with some great help from @thesacredpath was only I think two lines – so not too bad – just save the lines of code somewhere and not too bad – I have an archive page that lists all my posts and the stock spacing was hard to read so I got help to increase to about 125% or so

It’s at wordpalettes.wordpress.com but I figured out how to do it for each line which was very tedious for the opening page titled January. THe rest of the poetry is still double spaced on the other categories
    Thanks

  • Could you provide a direct link to a post or page which is still “double spaced” so I can take a look? I’ve spot-checked a few but I’m not seeing anything obvious so if you could provide a link that would be really helpful. Thanks!
