trying to verify site in dns for google
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you tried following the support article here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/verifying-your-domain-with-google/
-
yes, that’s the article I was referencing but when I get to #5 and select domain – then there is no button or section for me to do #6:
6. Click on the “Name Server and DNS” option to access the DNS records section.
where is that located?
I went into settings and then selected SEO tab on top – then I added html tag to google box.
is that correct?
I then went back to google to verify and it said my site can’t be verified.
why is this so difficult? I’ve spent over an hour on something that should be simple.
help me!!!!!! -
Hi fmygeorgetownedu,
Just out of interest, are you using a custom domain or the free one that you created when you signed up? Because this method only works if you have a custom domain mapped/registered to WordPress.com. If you’re trying to do this on your travelzeglobe.wordpress.com domain, you’ll have to do this through the meta data HTML tag.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/ – These steps worked when I used them with my *.wordpress.com URL

I’m using a custom domain that I purchased from namecheap.com
i’m really confused at this point.
I would really appreciate your help

With a custom domain, if it’s mapped to your account then the DNS settings should be available to you. Unfortunately I can’t see that information, so it might be worth your time adding the ‘modlook’ tag to the post so that they can take a look at your account and offer further assistance. :)

hi, yes, I already mapped my custom domain to my host account.
I don’t know what a modlook is – where do I access that and how do I attach it.
omg – is there someone I can call to walk me through this?
