Where is my image?
-
I wrote my first post and I inserted an image of a diary. Now, I am not seeing it after it was published. What’s going on? Here is the link:

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t see the Edit page on your dashboard. Please give us the link to the post it’s supposed to appear in (published only) or the Url of the image itself.
-
*Sigh* Okay, how about this:
http://specialspice.wordpress.com/2012/05/04/the-invention-of-the-blog
I am only seeing the word image above my title. The image was supposed to be at the bottom of the blog………………
-
I think I see the problem. When the image URL got put into the blog, it had two HTTP at the start of it. Go back to Edit, and look not at the visual editor but the HTML editor and make sure there’s only one http in your image link.
-
Raincoaster, I followed your instructions exactly and I am seeing only one http under HTML editor. I looked at the blog again and I am not seeing the word image anymore. Should I try to upload an image again?
-
-
That’s peculiar. Can you paste the code from your HTML editor in here, between Code buttons, so we can see? Like, click the Code button, paste it all in, then click Code again? I don’t see the word image at all, and now I can’t find that code I saw earlier.
-
WOOOHOOOO!!! Guess what Raincoaster??? I think I got it! The sad part is I still dont know what happened!! Anyway, I am happy! Thanks for all your help and patience with me!
-
Glad to hear it’s fixed. Maybe it was something staff were doing in the background and you didn’t have anything to correct. Congratulations!

Hi. I have recently created a blog and I faced a problem where my images would not appear in my site even though I am able to successfully upload it in my post itself — It just refuse to appear on my site, ohfeelings.wordpress.com. Please assist. Thanks!
-
That’s the theme you’ve chosen. Some themes don’t display images on the front page unless they’ve been selected as Featured Images. So either do that or switch themes.
-
Raincoaster, I am seeing the word “image” over the header but at this stage, I think I will just ignore it. The good news is, I am still seeing the original picture that I had inserted again, today……..
-
@theslysilverfox – just a thought. Did you choose ‘Imag’ for the post format? As far as I know that format is for images only, not for text included with them. Try going into your post editor and look at the ‘post format’ module. Click on ‘Standard’ and then republish. See if that makes any difference.
If you can’t see the post format module, look at the top of the post editor window and you’ll see a tab marked ‘screen options’. Click that and then check the option for ‘post format’ and it’ll appear somewhere lower down on the page.
The word ‘Image’ appears because it’s not a standard post. You’ll get similar with the other format settings.
Here’s the page about the theme you’re using, maybe it might give some help:
-
I selected the “Upload/insert add media” icon. The post editor is the same as the visual editor? If yes, then I am not seeing “standard” under the format button………….
-
Aha! Now I understand what you are referring to! I did exactly what you said and now, I am no longer seeing the word “image” above my post title! WOOOHOOO!!! Thanks a million absurdoldbird!
-
Excellent! Absurdoldbird is newer than me, so she knows more about the newer post options like post formats.
-
@theslysilverfox – glad that worked!
@raincoaster – I mostly know about the new stuff ‘cos I get so paranoid that wordpress have altered something without telling me that I frequently go through all my settings and try out the new things for myself. I do miss some though. ;)
-
@theslysilverfox – in case it’s of any help to you, I have an archive of my ‘how to’ posts from a now deleted WordPress.com blog, here:

Absurdoldbird, I love your post of this website! Very informative! Thanks for sharing this!
