Where is my visual editor?
-
Dear all,
I have been using basic HTML code for a while. I realized that we can use “visual editor” when we post a new topic. But, I can’t find it on my dashboard. That is, I don’t have the option “Visual/HTML.” Where can I get the visual editor?
Thank you.

Go to users > personal settings in your dashboard and deselect “Disable the visual editor when writing” and then save. The visual editor/HTML editor tabs should then show up in the editors.

Just started all this today. Using another hosting service for my web site and have wordpress-dashboard installed there. I am working as “admin” to build the page and have gotten most of what I need done, but now I need the Visual Editor and I can’t access it. I have read through the link here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/missing-visual-editor/ BUT that did not work. Perhaps this ‘tool’ or ‘widget’ is not part of the default package? Help anybody?

@knightofalltrades: Hi. If you say you are “using another hosting service”, it means you have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog and are in the wrong forum. Please ask your question on http://wordpress.org/support
You are currently in a WordPress.COM forum and our answers will not apply to your situation. Thanks and I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.

I checked by mistake by setting – medie Only display videos in free software formats and now I do not have my dashboard, i cannot open pages, make entries etc. How can I reset this back so that I can update my blog.
