Where is my website?

  • Unknown's avatar

I launched my site last night, but the address will not bring other people to see the website. even when I look for the website on my phone it comes up as ‘page not found’.
I’m on a deadline to complete this, so swift response and support is greatly appreciated

    Hi there,

If your site is on WordPress.com, on creating your site, by default, the site will be Private. In order to launch your site, you will need to verify your email address.

You will not be able to invite viewers to a private site until your email address is verified.
You can check the below link for more details:

    Hope this helps!! :)

  • Hi there,

I am no longer seeing that message on your site, but most of your pages are still in draft mode – that would be why people will not be able to see your site content despite the fact you launched your site.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or issues.

    Thanks,

    Hey yall,

So I reviewed my settings and I had already made the switch for privacy from private to public a while ago, so that was not the problem.

I looked through some of the older questions inn the forum, and I believe it has something to do with having a “static homepage”. It outlines that to have a static page I need 2 pages; one for blog posts and one to be the home page.

That makes a little more sense, since I’m running into unpublished drafts…smh.
Also I deleted the “Blog page” last week maybe…so that could be why it can’t be found.

I’m going to play with this a little more, but I appreciate both of your assistance

  • Yes, indeed – if your homepage is set to draft or private, you will receive that page not found message. Once you publish that page, the message should go away.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

    Thanks,
