Where is my wp-json?
-
Hi,
I’m new to WordPress. Just created a free site for now, and I’m testing json. Was expecting to see the json syntax when adding wp-json after the URL, but it just says page not found. Here’s the link:

Many thanks!

On free WordPress.com sites, you won’t see the expected
wp-jsonoutput because we have it disabled. You would need to upgrade to a Business or eCommerce plan to have that access. You can read more about this here:https://wordpress.com/support/php-environment/
You can compare the different plan levels here:

Was there something specific you were looking for with that JSON query? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have upgraded to the business plan, but I still don’t see json as expected by going to this link:

To be clear, I’m expecting to see json as on this site:
Please advise.

Okay. Next go to Plugins in the dashboard, and install any plugin – the simplest one that won’t change any functionality on the site otherwise is the one called Hello Dolly.
Once you install that, it will trigger some internal changes on your site, which will make it function more like a self-hosted WordPress installation, and will give you access to the advanced tools and features not available on regular WordPress.com sites.
