Where is the $13 Domain mapping option?
-
I’m having a similar issue. I’ve been trying to help a friend map her existing domain from GoDaddy to WordPress, but after we through the step of “Congratulations! fromthereadingroom.com can be mapped!” and we go to map it, it tells us we have to pay for it…which is what we expected… $13 right? But then why are the only options the Premium and Business upgrades? Where’s the $13 upgrade option? Also when we go to My Domains, the button “Update Primary Domain” is not working. She currently has fromthereadingroomblog.wordpress.com and we’re trying to map her existing domain to fromthereadingroom.com Any help would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Nope. The ONLY options are for the $99 Business upgrade or $299 Premium option. I wondered if we were just missing a step, but there’s nothing. Everything works until you get to the part where you have “pick a plan.”

Look at Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard, you’ll find the “Add a Domain” box there.

I have a “Add Domain” as an option at Dashboard >> Store – on a couple of my sites
Will let the staff explain why they want to up sell you so badly – I flagged this for their attention

These are the exact steps we follow–every time. The problem, is that after we add the domain to map it, it still wants us to select a plan and the $13 option is not there.

There isn’t any up-selling that I’m aware of.
Which blog are you trying to add this under?
-
She currently has fromthereadingroomblog.wordpress.com but owns fromthereadingroom.com thru godaddy, which is the domain we’re trying to map.
-
OK, we’ll need to dig a bit deeper into this to see why you can’t just map a domain.
Are you the user who is trying to purchase the domain on behalf of “she,” or is “she” trying to purchase it under her own username? If it’s her own username, what is that username?
-
No, I’m not the user. The username is AradiaBraeden1. I’ve just been trying to get to the bottom of it for her. Thanks.

staff-blorbo – there is a study stream of people into the forum that have trouble finding the individual options (domain mapping, no ads etc.) – of they click on an option and they go to the package options –
that is why I refer to this as “up selling” – maybe not what is intend – but that is the end experience for many users

ajm207, thanks, would you mind having her reply to this thread just for good measure? I’ve asked our developers to take a look at this.

Thanks, I’ll let her know. She might be leaving for the weekend, however, and it may be Monday before she responds. Appreciate your help.

@vanzip
I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now. -
