Can someone please help me locate the blogroll widget,I checked all the widgets and legacy widgets and cannot seem to locate it, or has it been renamed to LISTS,

Additionally how to export and import a .opml file on the latest version of wordpress?

    Hi there!

The recommended ways of creating a blogroll on this guide about links, is by adding a Paragraph block, a List block, or a Navigation block.
I would recommend the Navigation block. You can learn how to use it from this link: https://wordpress.com/support/full-site-editing/theme-blocks/navigation-block/#insert-a-navigation-block

    Hope this helped!

    One more thing.
This is the guide on how to export/import .opml files
    https://wordpress.com/support/reader/#opml-import-export

First, go to your dashboard> Reader> Following Sites (https://wordpress.com/read)
    Select “Manage”
Click on the three dots and select import/export.

    That’s it!
    Good luck!

  • Hi there,

The Links/Blogroll widget was deprecated in October last year, so it’s no longer available to add to a site on WordPress.com. Sites that have it already can continue using it, but if you remove it you won’t be able to add it back. And new sites, like the ones in this account which you only created a couple months ago, won’t have access to that widget at all.

On a site where you already had links set up, view your site and add /wp-links-opml.php to view the XML file for your links. then use the Save File option in your web browser (usually by clicking File -> Save As… but the exact wording may vary depending on your browser). We’ve never had an exporter for this, and that’s the only way to export links from a site.

To import those to another site, go to Tools ->Import, click Screen Options top right, and select the Classic View. Then you’ll see the option to do a Blogroll import. But doing that won’t help you, as there’s no longer any way to display a list of links imported to a site in this way.

So rather make a copy of the links you have in your links list on the existing site, and add that using a List block on your new site instead. Then going forward you can just update that list directly if you need to make changes to your links.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    ,

The OP is referring to a legacy feature of WordPress.com, where there was a section in the dashboard where you could add blogroll links, and then use a widget to display them. Links could also be imported to this list via the OPML format, and that’s what they’re asking about, rather than importing a list of followed sites in the Reader :)

Ohhh, okay! Thank you @kokkieh for the clarification, I just learnt about the blogroll widget by researching the question and thought OPML was only related to the Reader. Good to know 😉
    Have a great day!
