where is the .htaccess file?

  I was following the directions to change the location of my blog files to the /blog directory instead of the /wordpress directory (http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory) It says to move two files to the /blog directory… the index.php and .htaccess files. I can’t find the .htaccess file!? Where is it?
