where is the meta widget?
-
What happened to the Meta widget that puts an admin login link on my home page? I’ve tried switching to other themes, and none of them has a “meta” or “admin” or “login” link. (the RSS links widget is there, but I’m not particularly interested in that.)
is there something else that replaced that? how is one supposed to log in?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, the Meta widget was retired quite some time ago in favor of users logging in on the WordPressdotcom front page at https://wordpress.com/, which after logging in leads to the New Dash/Calypso.
If you wish to log in to your site’s WP Admin, you’ll want to create a direct bookmark to it https://virtualjackdaw.wordpress.com/wp-admin or if your account is old enough (I think yours is) you should see a link to WP Admin at the very bottom of the sidebar in Calypso.
Hope that helps.

Another thing you can do is add that link to WP Admin in a text widget and add it to your site’s sidebar. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

Thanks for the explanation. I’ve already got the home page bookmarked. not sure if I’ll update the bookmark, or add the text widget you suggest.
and Calypso is the the name of the new dashboard, right?

Hello again, yes, Calypso is the “new-ish” dashboard :)
After you log in at https://wordpress.com you’ll land in the Reader and you can then click on the MY SITES link in the top left hand side of the Admin bar. That will take you to the daily stats page for your primary site, if you have more than one. From there you can click through to the other parts of the dashboard.
Let us know if you have any other question.
