where is the old editor?
-
the target=”_blank” attribute is there!
it seems like my links referring to somewhere else om my blog, opens in new tab, when links referring outside my blog, opens in same tab..
example at this page:
http://globetrotterinawheelchair.com/2014/12/31/why-im-here-but-less/I just tested your link on the text “post-concussion syndrome, also known as post-concussive syndrome or PCS” as shown here:
It’s opening up in a new tab for me. Is that opening up in the same tab on your side?
again today it’s one long column, and the text editor part at the bottom.. don’t know if you understand – is there somehow I can add screenshot in this forum to show you?
Yep! You can just add a screenshot to your Media Library (like you would a normal photo). Screenshot instructions can be found here:
I believe I know the look you’re referring to though. Can you try clearing your browser’s cache? I’m not sure why this view keeps popping up.

Q: It’s opening up in a new tab for me. Is that opening up in the same tab on your side?
A: yes! That’s a bit puzzling – I tried this in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on both desktop and mobile browsers, and the link shown here is opening up in a new tab for me:
All the attributes are being set correctly so I’m not quite sure what could be happening here. What about this link?
I found that link on this page:
http://globetrotterinawheelchair.com/2015/03/01/nearly-missed-the-solar-eclipse-in-panama-city/
Still same window?
oops, I wanted to tell you that I zoomed out in order to see the whole screen..
Is your browser zoom at 100% or did you have to zoom out farther to get this looking right?
-
I am disappointed, I do not like the new editor, until I tried to make a post today, I have been able to select the old editor. Today when I tried, the link to the old editor has vanished.
I guess that I will not be making any more posts to my blog, I dislike the new editor.

As mentioned previously, you can continue to use the Classic Editor at the following URL:
https://sensuousamberville.wordpress.com/wp-admin
If you could elaborate on specifically what you don’t like about the New Editor, I’d love to get your feedback! If you have specific feedback, could you open a new thread following this link?

I too have tried different devices and browser where it works. So I guess it must be my Chrome there’s something wrong with. Just strange, because I’ve recently updated Chrome and double checked that everything should be in order.. anyway, that’s my problem..!
Is your browser zoom at 100% or did you have to zoom out farther to get this looking right?
my browser is normally at 100%, I only zoomed out to show you this..

oh, and I wanted to ask you about this:
As mentioned previously, you can continue to use the Classic Editor at the following URL:

Hi @kesters,
my browser is normally at 100%, I only zoomed out to show you this..
Thanks for confirming! We’re working on getting this fixed up. I’ll let you know as soon as this is fixed.
if I use this link, my screen shows:
User kesters Cannot Access the Dashboard RequestedSorry – that was directed at @sensuousamberville. That is their Dashboard so you will receive an error if you try to visit it. You can use the same type of format though! For example, your Dashboard for Kester Art can be found here:
https://kesterart.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
If you click “My Sites” from WordPress.com, you should also see a link to wp-admin as shown here:

Hi @kesters,
Regarding tags/categories –
I misunderstood how this worked previously (I apologize!). When you load the new editor, we grab the top 100 tags and categories for your site. When you click your mouse in the tag/category field, we display the first 20 of that 100 alphabetically. When you type in the box, you can sort through the rest of the 100. If you start typing the name of a tag that is outside the top 100, you will not see that as an autocomplete option.
So, in a way, we are already loading the tags/categories based on popularity. However, after we grab that “most popular” list, we organize it alphabetically.

Could this explain why BBB takes up to around 10 seconds to load on my blog (3000+ posts)?
-
When you load the new editor, are the tag and category modules already expanded? If so, can you minimize them and try reloading (it should remember your preference)? We lazy load those items so that could help with load time. The performance argument is why we chose to only load the top 100 tags/categories.

I’ll let you know as soon as this is fixed.
great, thanks!

yep, got it!
and hopefully it will STAY like that. so you have the opportunity to still use the old editor..?!So, in a way, we are already loading the tags/categories based on popularity. However, after we grab that “most popular” list, we organize it alphabetically.
ok.. but then it is becoming a problem for me, because I need to click each letter.. -and still I can’t use copy/paste at tag area?
-

That link will stay put!

I understand. We’re looking at potentially loading all 100 categories/tags in the dropdown when you click in the area. The limitation on the total (to 100) is put in place to preserve quick performance.
Re: copy and paste, that’s still working on my side. Can you try the following?
1. Copy some text
2. Click into the tag field
3. Once you’ve clicked into the tag field (so that your cursor is active), right-click and see if you can paste
-

I’m glad!

I’ve tried many times without luck, but today I was able to copy and Ctrl+v and it worked! first time though.. I’ve tried it before also with no luck..
-
Great! I’m glad it’s at least intermittently working now.
When the paste functionality fails to work, is the “Paste” option still available (clickable)? When you don’t have any content to paste, the text should appear grayed out indicating it’s not possible.
Alternatively, once you paste, can you try hitting the left arrow key (to move to the left of the field)? I’ve noticed that occasionally when I paste, the text is pasted but the field kicks me all the way to the right so the text is hidden although it’s there.
