Here are some basics I will share with you.
To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
It can take weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/ and we cannot help with search engine issues. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
Added note: Please read https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
re: front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog
Nothing Found
It seems we cannot find what you are looking for. Perhaps try a search? There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

All of your sponsors speak to an active working site on a hosting agent. My issues are all occurring in Draft mode and preview. With the site’s appearance in development, I do not want to ftp it to the host in its current condition. All of my descriptions are from what displays in development and prior to hosting.

You are confusing WordPress.COM hosted blogs with WordPress.ORG software installs. Please read the differences here https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs.I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to questions any blogger poses when they fail to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now.

What exactly is your problem?
Please refer to the original post, which clearly states the problem. I downloaded WordPress.com 4.1.1 not . org

Ok, I’ll continue this conversation later, when someone addresses specific problems with specific answers and doesn’t just dump them in a prepared bucket

Please refer to the original post, which clearly states the problem. I downloaded WordPress.com 4.1.1 not . org
Where do you see that? I don’t see it. All, I see is:
Where to begin?
cache clearing
The blog I need help with is airflighttraveling.wordpress.com.There are two separate sites. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs, and if you are referring to any downloaded WordPress.ORG software at all then you are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different username accounts, log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

I yiye! yiye!
I’ll start over later.
I am so far beyond most of what you responded, that we are just going in circles. How did you answer me if you didn’t read the subject message?
Anyway, BYE!

Hi solstice314,
It’s incredibly easy to confuse WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress. It happens all the time. Since this forum is for WordPress.com and the two types of WordPress work a little differently, helping with WordPress sites like yours doesn’t usually work very well in this forum. There is a whole forum set up to help people with your kind of WordPress site over here:
https://wordpress.org/support/
Ultimately, that’s your best bet for specific help with your site. The people over there know way more about how to solve problems specific to self-hosted sites than I do.
That having been said, since you are already here, I’m happy to start a private e-mail conversation and do what I can to get you pointed in the right direction.
If you’d like that, let me know and I’ll e-mail you.
-
I”m not in Word Press.org. But you have to actually read the subject presented to understand the issue. I told your staff several times that I was in Word Press.Com. But, you see, if you don’t read the subject and actually understand the problem presented, you might think I was in Word Press.org
-
Please refer to the original post, which clearly states the problem. I downloaded WordPress.com 4.1.1 not . org
This piece right here is what makes me think you have a self hosted WordPress site.
If you were on WordPress.com, you wouldn’t have downloaded WordPress, and you wouldn’t have a version number.
If you are actually asking for help with this site: https://airflighttraveling.wordpress.com/ I apologize for misunderstanding.
If you are asking about this site: http://www.airflighttraveling.com/
it is a self-hosted site.
That having been said, I’m happy to do what I can to help you.
Your original question is “Where to begin” and something about cache clearing. If you could give me more background on the problem you are trying to solve by clearing your cache that will help.
