Where to find personal info

I was addressed by name by another WordPress user in response to a comment I made. I usually take care not to put my name on the web, and have scoured my recent posts, Gravatar, and blog page for any places where I could have, somehow, used my name. Nothing has come up in my search. Did I miss something? Is there another place where my name is visible? Or is there a chance that my email was leaked? This isn’t a huge deal, but I would like to keep this information from being publicly accessible. Thanks.

If you left a comment on their blog, and your email has your name in it, then the blog admins can see your email. This goes for EVERY site on the web.

Oh, hah, I had no idea. I was going off the “will not be publicly displayed” text under Email Address in My Account. Thank you kindly.

Some blogs also publish the Author of Posts, and the displayed Author name is not always the same as the user account. Some people will use their first name in the about page of their blog, or the blog might link to Facebook of Linked in
