Where to start. wordpress blog-to future shop

    Hi,

    I am working my way towards creating a hosted website with a few products to sell.
    I’d appreciate any thoughts?

    I have no ecommerce experience although I have built a personal services website before.

    The options and opinions are endless. I am thinking of staying with a wordpress site and adding an ecommerce plug in the long term.

    For the moment, all I have is a free wordpress blog I want to keep and include in the future site and a domain name reserved. As an artist, I am looking for the easiest diy place to start while keeping my future options open.

    I know I can’t put a paypal button or anything like that on a free blog site, but is it allowable to have an order form? Or even just say that you will take orders on your blog?

    I have already considered etsy, and other market places etc.

    I know I can’t put a paypal button or anything like that on a free blog site

    You can find instructions for setting up a paypal button on a free site in the link below. You can only post a one-item-at-a-time button (not a dropdown menu multiple-item selection) with the free plan.
