where’d my profile pic go?

It’s back now (since I re-added it), but it was missing this morning. I got an email about moderating a comment, and I noticed that all MY comments (and forum topics)had one of those “anonymous” avatars. I not only have had an avatar for some time, I recently uploaded uploaded a “blog picture” which is supposed to work like a flavicon, but sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn’t. I noted it in a RECENT POST, saying “check out the new flavicon”, and, though it was appearing THAT day, it’s not there now (is THAT because I forward djeddieo.wordpress.com to djeddieo.com?). Are these two issues related (the profile pic issue and the blavicon issue)?

I see your Gravatar just fine. Your Blavatar is not loading. Try reloading it and only use a PNG or JPG.

Then scroll down to ‘Primary Blog’ fill in the address of your blog and then click ‘Update Profile’.

Gracias. I looked into the linking my username to my blog… it already was :( I’m moving from Typepad.. pretty gladly, but this is frustrating for such a simple thing… Where does m profile pic go? why is not showing? My blog: http://espimedia.wordpress.com
So far I have tried with no results:
1. Uploaded my pic to “blog picture” under general settings (shows in the favicon but not when I post)
2. Uploaded my pic to “my gravatarmy” under “profile” (but no showing when I post)
3. Clear all cookies, cache, etc, etc. BTW, it has been over 24hrs now and I have tired different computers.
4. I searched support and forums, and see man with smae problem but no clear answer?:(

The image you uploaded will never ever show on posts. It will appear on only comments you make on other wordpress.com blogs and on your own blog, and it will appear on on the wordpress.com tag pages. If you wish every post you publish to have your avatar appear in it then your will have to upload it into every post prior to publishing. Also your wordpress.com username is NOT linked to your wordpress.com blog.

P.S. I forgot to say that the image will also appear as mine does here in the wordpress.com forum when you post.

no image here when i post either… and in my dashboard it shows I’m link… I give up but thank you for trying.

Please understand that the avatar/gravatar image you upload is NOT intended to appear in your posts ever. There is a time delay before it appears at all and when it does appear it will not appear in your posts. It will appear only here in the forum when you post; in comments you post on other wordpress.com blogs and in your comments on your own blog; and on that wordpress.com catagory/tag pages only.

the theme I’m using “Prologue” is suppose to… like in Twitter… but then again at this point I have no idea.

it shows link now… Uhmmm… I removed all pics. what’s the difference anyway between the Gravatar and the Blog Picture?

I didn’t realize that the Prologue theme is different than the others.

Eureka!! it was a setting in the Settings > Discussion down at the bottom there’s a selection to show or not show avatars.
So here’s what as a 4 year Typepad Pro experienced blogger took me 2 days to figure out… I’m sure I’m not all right but is what work for me… Avatar/Gravatar in your profile is basically your profiles pic, your head shot or whatever you want to show when you post or comment.
Figuring out what the “Blog pic” is is next… stay tune

Ah… jsut figured out the link to site deal…
is not the “primay blog” part in the users>profile which in my case shows “Primary Blog espimedia.wordpress.com”
It’s actually the “website link” under users>profile>contact info
Backwards… in my opinion… you should be able to able to have both your “blog” and your “website link” your user name should be link to your blog… is why we are here after all…

Ok, so I’ll put in the “website link” so my user name is link to my blog… even if my blog is already selected as my “primary blog”
