Where’s my Avatar

    Another thing to remember is that when you upload an avatar, it takes sometimes as much as an hour or even a few before it will show up everywhere. As I remember it, it will show up first here in the forums and then start showing up on comments you make a little later.

    Think I’ve solved it, at least for my case.

    There was also a time when my avatar was appearing on comments which I’ve made on other blogs, but never on any comments that I make on my own blog. This was happening even if it had been more than two weeks since I’ve uploaded my one and only avatar.

    Well, a couple of days ago I decided to check my Profile. I saw that I hadn’t entered anything in the URL field, so I entered my url http://melcartera.wordpress.com.

    Guess what? The very next comment I made on my own blog, my avatar was there! If you visit my blog, you’ll see in the Recent Comments sidebar that there are comments from me with avatars and there are some without. The ones with avatars are those I’ve entered since filling in the URL field in my Profile.

    Well, worked for me…

    Thank you for helping me…the formatting issue is now resolved. However I cannot see my picture on the blog. How did I lose it. What happened and how can I get it back

    If I add the widgets…will they show at the top?

    I can see your avatar here now but I do not know if that’s the picture you are referring to or not. If it is then in time it will populate throughout wordpress.com. I think this will help you understand about avatars

    As for widgets here is where you find them -> Presentation -> Widgets
    Look down in the “Available widgets” box and find the ones you want. Drag them out of that box and drop them into the “Sidebar” box in the order that you wish them to appear in your sidebar on the front of your blog. Then click “Save Changes”

    You are very welcome. Off-topic for this thread, I see another paragraph in your latest post that is overrunning the sidebar. It’s the one that starts with “Chernyshevskij’s”. Are you by chance pasting from Microsoft Word?

    As to your avatar, are you perhaps speaking of the “about” widget that appears at the top of the sidebar when you first started your blog?
