Wheres my editor?????
-
I cannot find my editor in my wordpress admin. I log in and then go to appearance and don’t see it there. Is there something I did wrong when I signed up?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Have you clicked ‘add a post” or “add a page”? Until you do the editor will not appear Please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/ -
This is the result of clicking your username:
lanceallenstudio.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog. Please link the active blog in question to your username. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

I have done so, I just read that I may have to have a host in order to to edit and make my page more like a site other than a blog.
-
If you will just please post the URL starting with http:// to the blog in question I will either confirm or deny what you have said. Please post the URL

Thanks for the URL. That’s a free hosted WordPress.com blog and your are posting to the correct forum. You do not need a web host – you already have one. All of our blogs have an editor. To add to what timethief said: Appearance > Editor is indeed a feature of self-hosted WordPress blogs. That’s why you can’t find it on your WordPress.com dashboard.
What is it that you want to change?

to edit and make my page more like a site other than a blog
Staff have provided help for those who want to structure their blog like a website. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/
What’s critical is:
(1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.
A custom menu allows you to display Categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages and custom links in your custom menu as well.
These are the how-to instructions:
How to create Pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
How to create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ -

I want to remove the date of post etc.
Are you referring to this blog? http://guitarlancer.wordpress.com
If so then you need (1) CSS editing skills and you need to (2) purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/ -
The site you are pointing to is a WordPress.ORG install. It runs on different software than ours here at WordPress.com. It uses a different version of the Elegant Grunge theme than the one we have here.
-
Ok question answered. I either need to purchase the renewable custom design upgrade, or use a host that supports the wordpress edit feature..
