Where’s my spam? (Akismet)
-
OK, so Akismet is on by default to stop spammy comments on my blog; that’s great. But it’s telling me it’s caught one spam for me, yet there’s nothing in my spam queue. Is there no way for me to check the comment and say hey, yeah, that wasn’t actually spam? Or is it gone forever? I’ve checked the FAQ and the Akismet page, and the latter says that Akismet holds spam in the database for 15 days. Great… how do I see it?

Give it a few hours and see if it shows up. Sometimes there is a delay.
That said, I’ve had the same issue on my blogs here since I first started them (only one left now), and sometimes the count goes up by 10, 20 or 30 before I’m allowed to review a token one or two. The remainder I am never allowed to see.

Same issue. I just emailed Akismet, and they gave me some generic answer about how spam should sit there for 15 days after you get them, so I replied telling them again that they just were not showing up. Just waiting for the reply… I’ve had my blog for just over a year now, and not a single piece of spam has ever showed up there, it just tells me how many it’s blocked. I really worry that I’m getting a bunch of real comments that it’s marking as spam! Anyone able to help, please?

Getting sick of Akismet deciding what is Spam and what isn’t. They could at least have the decency to show us what they consider Spam and let *us* decide to delete whatever *we* want to.
Oddly enough, the first time I had Spam, they did show it and it turned out to be from a good friend of mine.
C’mon, Big Brother, get of your high horse and let us use whatever comment, Spam or not, we wish. These Blogs are OURS, not yours.Sunny regards,

If you look on your stats page, at the bottom is a link for “spam”. Click on that and you will see the spam that Akismet caught.

Hi everyone!
I am just having all the problems you are writing about with Akismet! But non of the solutions you have been giving are working for me!I can’t never check my spam queue as it is always empty, nevertheless Akismet has stopped in 4 months 300 hundred comments, that I have never been able to check! (I know some of them are good as people have been complaining about them writing and the comments never appearing!). I prefer to check the spam by myself if necessary! Is there anyway to deactivate the Akismet thing?
Kind regards,
Lara
