If you are importing content from a site with a lot of content (pages, blog posts, images, etc.) then it can be the case that the import will ‘time out’ at a certain point. Usually your current site host has a limit on how long an export will run before the close access on their end.
The good news is that you can re-run the import, and we will automatically skip any content that has already been imported, and instead pick up where we left off.

i can’t “rerun”/restart because there’s still the window with the uploding infos and the window with the filechoosing options won’t appar if i restart the importer so….

I’ve reset the importer once again for you.
As my colleague said, running another import will skip any content that had already been imported, so don’t delete anything that has already been imported in your past attempts.
Looking at your thread history, you’ve never stated what site you are exporting from. If it’s from a site not hosted here at WordPress.com, you should reach out to your host and find out what their timeout limit is and to get your export split into smaller import files that won’t hit their timeout.

You funnies, wordpress is my host and always was, i am importing old wp exports from the same site but with different wp domain names! Maybe you should implement an reset/abbort butten which can be pushed during (halted) imports!

Could you send a link to the site you’re exporting from and to? If they are both hosted here and if you are willing (and also willing to give permission from the other account) we can try the import to see what’s wrong.
It’s very unusual for an import to get stuck when importing from one WordPress.com site to the other.

I always had only one account and only want to import old backups/exports bc as i said allready someone is deleting my post and so forth, i only changed during the lifetime of myaccount the wp domain names for my personal edification, here’s my hp adress, and i give you permission to check everything out, thank you!:

It’s not possible to upload .zip files, so we may need to find another way.

To clarify, you are not trying to upload an export file from a different site? Instead what you have done is to download an export file from slowtemplelovecozmicpurplehealing.wordpress.com some time ago, and you are now trying to upload that “backup” to the same site? i.e. the export is from some earlier state of slowtemplelovecozmicpurplehealing.wordpress.com yes?
If I can ask, why are you needing to do that? If your export file contains data for any pages or posts that are still on the site currently, the importer will skip those because they already exist in their current state.
i.e. you can’t import an old version of a page you have on your site now. Is that what you are trying to do? Thanks for clarifying.

as i already said someone is deleting my posts and pageentries and i need to update them now. But for clarification sometime ago it was perfectly fine and it worked to upload old exports from the same site!

i imported and old backup and it said “Congratulations, successfully imported”, so i thought the import was over and tried to upload another, but then the same old problem occured saying multiple uploads not possible, can you please again cancel the uploads?

The import halted at 2359 to-import posts like another time before. I don’t know what the problem is, but could you please once more cancel the import?

Can you clarify why you’re importing more than one backup of the site into itself? Or are these parts of of a single backup? I realize they’re older, but if you have, say, one from 2019 and another from 2020, the one from 2020 should have everything that the 2019 one does.
Also, if you want to have complete control over your WordPress installation, and you’re comfortable with tech or willing to learn and manage it on your own, the WordPress software itself is free. You’d need to buy your own hosting, and if you want to use a separate backup solution, you could.
Anyway, if you’d still like help here, please do upload all of the backups you’re trying to import into a site like Dropbox, then share the link here so we can download it.

as far as i know your importer only allows one import after another otherwise there comes an errormessage, btw now the importer tells my he still has 2402 articles to import there must be something wrong with it! I tried once the wp.org software on a free host but aborted that enterprise bc i couldn’t handle it well and it was so much work that i couldn’t focus on my blog! I will try to upload the files to dropbox and share the links though i have none xperience with such services and it probably needs some time before i can share a link!

i am aware that the latest export should be complete though on the other hand my gaslighter deletes randomly posts and alters sites so i don’t know which of the exports i uploaded to google drive is the most complete and i want to upload them all so i have a more or less complete site! Thank you!
