    Hi
    A couple of weeks ago I did the preliminary steps to set up a WordPress account but at that point I really had no idea what I waa doing. I have now discovered wpbeginner.com and am going to use their guide to set up my website. Can I use the account I started to set up on WordPress or do I need to close it to start again?

    Hi there, the information at wpbeginner.com is geared more toward users who are setting up a standalone WP site on 3rd party hosting, like BlueHost, Dreamhost and the like. If this is what you are doing, you’ll be looking for support either at your web hosting provider or at https://wordpress.org/support/ where you’ll find documentation and users who have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.

    Just to clarify, this support forum assists users hosted on the WPcom platform. WPcom (where we are ) and WP are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
