Which Dashboard Do I Use?
-
Good day all,
I have owned my domain for a little while now, and just today bought the 10 credits and moved under WordPress’s umbrella. All went well getting the nameservers changed, and getting everything to point to my domain. But now I have a question:
Both of my dashboards (junglepop.org and junglepop.wordpress.com) are still active. At this point, do both of them work? Or should I only use the dashboard that begins with http://junglepop.wordpress.com? I have yet to cancel my services with my previous web host, so maybe that’s part of it.
Thanks!

They both look to be going to the same place, so what you’ve got now is a dashboard that doesn’t go anywhere and one that goes to your wordpress.com blog, functionally speaking. It should be only a matter of a few hours until the direct http://junglepop.org/wp-admin login link leads directly to your WP.com dashboard.

Will I need to import my junglepop.org content? I notice that currently only the default startup post (and a test post I did a long time ago) are the only ones in the junglepop.wordpress.com dashboard.

Yes, you will need to import the content and comments. Domain mapping is ONLY the URL, not the content. And if you have videos or podcasts, their format will have to be brought in line with WordPress.com security guidelines as laid out in the FAQ.

Okay, thanks a lot! I’ll mark this as “Resolved” for now. If after all the behind-the-scenes changes, I still have questions, I’ll come back. Appreciate your help!

No worries. You WILL have questions, but use the search box first and you should usually find answers.
