Which free wordpress.com theme doesn't shows authors in posts ?
-
I have been in love with wordpress.com but when I wanted to hide the author’s name from posts, I was able to find only 2 options – upgrading my account or choosing a different theme of which being low on budget, I have to choose the latter option. So please suggest me the themes ( only free ) that don’t show the author’s name……
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I do not have a current list of the themes that do not display author bylines. Themes Staff will have one so I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. Hi @shreyanshjain2002, hmm, that does get a bit tricky. Some themes will display an author bio, and of those some will let you turn the bio off.
But I want to say all themes will show the authors names if you have multiple authors, and you do.
Can you help me understand more about why there are many authors but none of them should be listed? Maybe I can make another recommendation that would fit better.

Actually, I am creating a bit like a social networking site so I will have many of my followers sending me emails of their post and if there’s an author byline, it wouldn’t be fair for my followers. That’s why I don’t wanna show the byline.

And all the other author’s are just my friends who have stopped working in the blog, so I can remove them. That’s not a problem.

@shreyanshjain2002 try removing them then and see if the byline goes away. You’ll need to attribute the posts to a single account.

Just thinking out loud here, but would unchecking the appropriate boxes in Content Options help regardless of theme (on those themes that support Content Options, of course).

The “author bio” is usually more fleshed out than a byline.
I did confirm that in Shoreditch on a multi-author site, unchecking author bio makes the byline go away. I confirmed also that the byline does not go away when I hide the author-bio with Libre 2, though.
Anyway, while we don’t have filters for themes that can hide the byline altogether, my guess is that you’re more likely to be able to hide it on themes that display the author bio. So you could try starting here.
https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/author-bioIf you won’t have multiple authors posting to a site though and don’t want to change themes necessarily, I’d think removing the extra authors (and assigning their posts to one person) would be a good place to start.
