  As @staartmees mentions, there is not a specific plan for blogging, and we have many active bloggers who use our free platform without upgrades. However, one thing to be aware of about free sites is that they display advertising (to help us keep the lights on) and are required to use the “wordpress.com” address and can’t use a custom URL.

  Upgrading to any of our plans will turn off ads, as well our plans include a free custom domain for the first year if you subscribe to our yearly plan option.
