  I already have a domain name and am not sure how to proceed using that in WP?

  Hi there,

  You can create a site with WordPress.com

  Here are some tips on getting that free site set up:

  4. https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/

  Once you have your site with WordPress, You can map your existing domain. Below is a good article on how to map the domain you already own.
  There are two options.
  1. Transfer your domain to WordPress.com
  2. Don’t transfer your domain(When you want to manage a domain with registrar with whom you own the domain). Just map it.

  Adding to @khushbudesaiblog reply If you want to add your custom domain to your WordPress.com site then you must be under any of the paid plans (Personal plan is basically needed or you can buy any other plan if you need any features that are not in personal plan)
