Which theme to use?

So, I’ve paid for the CSS upgrade, I’ve spent a happy week or two playing around with Sandbox, but I’ve pretty much reached the limit of my knowledge and time to learn at the moment. I’m wondering if there’s another theme that’s customizable using CSS for things like header image, background image, font size/colour etc, but has more features (page tabs etc.) already built in.
What themes would you recommend I try?

All of those things are editable with the CSS upgrade on the themes.
There’s a theme review here. It’s not completely up to date, but it would give you a start.
You could make a test blog (just sign up for another blog), put in a few dummy posts with the various features (lists, blockquotes, etc) and play around with the themes. You can edit and then preview any CSS changes but not save them. You can even make it private so people don’t stumble on it. I have a private blog for private stuff, but I also use it for theme testing.

Thank you! I already have a test blog and have been playing a bit. I just didn’t want to have to go through all the themes if someone else has already tried them. I’ll have a look at that review list.
