Which themes display category descriptions on the home page

  I’m completely new to Word Press. I have a blog that I’ve created from the ground up using Ruby on Rails, does-god-exist.com, but the hosting is fairly costly and its appearance is a little basic, so I am hoping to transition to Word Press.

  I would like my new Word Press blog to maintain roughly the same format i.e. a home page with three categories and various topics within each category where readers can post their comments for each topic. I would like the categories to each be displayed with a description as well.

  I have read that some word press themes display category descriptions. Does anybody know which ones and whether they will display them on the home page?

  I’d really appreciate any help that you can offer me.
