if you have a wp.com blog which is hosted by wordpress there’s no version, it’s a multi-user platform. it’s the self-hosted blogs that has versions.

Staff here take care of upgrading the software, and they tell us that our software is generally a bit ahead of the regular WordPress software in terms of features, etc, but that there is no comparable “version” number.

So does that mean I can import posts from Blogger & LiveJournal (The latter of which hasn’t quite worked out for any of my blogs there except one)??

No, it doesn’t have anything to do with the importer. The importer for here is different from the importer for a self-hosted blog, I believe.

Just for reference, post hyjacking is a very big nono around here. Please don’t do it again. Some of the folks here who help out get offended by folks doing it.
To answer your question though, please take a look at Dashboard -> Manage -> Import for the available importers. Blogger and LJ are both systems we can import here at wp.com.
To answer the first question though, we’re running what we believe to be basically 2.3-2.4 alpha code with a couple of small exceptions that’s generating some debate amoung the developers currently.
