Which Widget?

  Most of the sites I have done in wordpress have allowed me to add a text widget to the sidebar and give it a title. With the new system when customizing and you add a text widget it does not offer the title any more, so I have been hacking my way by copying a legacy widget that does not exist in the legacy widget options any more. It’s been a real pain.

  Which or what way can I add a sidebar or footer widget so that it shows a title to the widget and then enables me to add the text or html (code) after it in a separate field.

  Hi there, the new widget system operates like the new post editor: https://wordpress.com/support/widgets/

  That means you can use any block as a widget: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/

  So, in this case, you can add a Heading Block above any widget to essentially add a title: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/heading-block/
