which works best for an online store – blog, or website ?

Hello everyone – this is my first post here. I have just registered a domain name with the intention of opening an online store (as soon as I can build up some inventory). So my question is, which would work better to associate with my future store, a blog, or website ( or both) ? I am thinking this is going to draw comments from both sides, and maybe there is no definitive answer, but I am new to this and would appreciate some comments from maybe someone that’s lived it. Anyone ?

I think a website with a static front page will suite better with an online store. On the static front page, you can add your products list using plugins like WooCommerce.

products list using plugins like WooCommerce.

    You can’t use plugin’s on WordPress.COM

If you want an e-commerce site you will need the Business upgrade unless you are only selling things you personally make

Oh sorry… I meant eCommerce features via WooCommerce. WordPress.com doesn’t support plugins as we know for self-hosted WordPress.org based sites. But one can use WooCommerce features on WordPress.com by upgrading their plan to Business: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/
