Which WP themes don’t hyphenate crazily, but instead allow text to wrap?
-
I would like suggestions of WordPress themes that (1) allow the use of the Classic Editor (I can’t get the hang of what do with images in the Block Editor) but (2) also do not suddenly, on random lines, hyphenate words at the end of a line (and not always in the appropriate place for the break) instead of allowing the text to wrap). I have the text left aligned, and not justified.
This is occurring with the theme Twenty Twelve which I have on the most recent of my WordPress blogs. I thought it had suddenly started to do this crazy hyphenating, but looking back to previous posts, I see again that there are several cases of this hyphenating in previous posts, that I haven’t noticed. There are no hyphens in the Classic Editor, which I check before publishing, and that’s perhaps why I haven’t noticed it before this week. I’ve now reached exasperation point recently.
I’ve also googled this phenomenon and find that others had this exact problem in 2015 and again in 2018, and there were so many suggestions of code to insert, which some people found didn’t always work, that I felt too overwhelmed to attempt to meddle with the HTML code in any way.
My other blogs use a theme which is no longer available (Twenty Ten) and that’s why I had to choose another theme. I actually quite like the design of 2012 but this hyphenation pushed me to exasperation point. It’s not even intelligent hyphenating.
Thanks so much for reading as far as this.
I’m using Windows 10 on a Dell laptop. I compose my text within WordPress, and rarely copy it elsewhere to paste into WordPress.

Howdy –
Sure thing. I will be glad to help you in this quest. Currently, the site is setup with the Twenty Fourteen theme. Your site looks to be set up like the demo when I reviewed it.

Do you want to continue with your content being in the center of the page? Or would you like to be able to fill more of the screen?
Once we nail down a theme that matches your needs we can then address any hyphenation problems. I don’t anticipate any trouble with that.
Are you able to share any examples or where you’re having this problem? Either a link to a post or page, or a screen shot. The screen shot can be added to your post here with an image block.
In the upper left hand corner you’ll see the Paragraph block symbol. Click on that to change which block you want to use. Or, you can hit
enterand see a black and white + sign in a box. From there you can select an image block to include the screen shot.
