white dots center of blog
-
Occasionally, when my blog loads in, there are tiny white dots down the center in a row, almost like missing pixels, but it’s very uniform and is the same every time it happens. I do have a screenshot, but I don’t know how to add the screenshot :)
Does anyone know what this is?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, I’ve loaded and reloaded your site a number of times and have not been able to reproduce this in Firefox, Safari or Chrome. Upload your screenshot to your Media Library at Media > Add New and then post the URL of it here in this thread and we can take a look.

It is an inconsistent problem, maybe related to slow loading? Rural internet here is like tar, at times .027 mbps, really. Here’s the URL:
You can barely see it if the screenshot is tiny, but it’s a row of what looks like missing pixels every inch or so, running through center of page, you can see one just to the bottom left of the purple toe of the sock center page (not center post), and then look up and down from there.
Hubby and I are packing up shipables this week :) Why is it that I always get going on blogs in the spring?

Hi.
The same as @thesacredpath: I tried to reproduce that with different browsers & computers… personally without success.
Have you tried displaying some other pics? Could it be a problem with your screen? In my opinion, this effect could not be difficultly justified by a malfunctioning or slow connection.

Sometimes it won’t happen for weeks, and then it pops up, and if I reload/refresh, it’s gone.
I work with dark photos a lot, so I would notice it, I’ve never seen it anywhere else, not on FB, or in Aperture, etc.
Curious :)

I’ll keep a lot, now I’m quite curious. I’ll note the time, the location, the internet conditions. I take this laptop all over with me, but I haven’t paid attention to notice if it only happens at home where the internet is slow. Will post once I see it a few times :)

I’m not seeing the white dots on the screenshot. Was this before or after you reloaded the page?

Hmmm, those look like single pixels. Can you try something for me? Go into your preferences on your Mac and Under Desktop & Screen Saver, set your background color to black and then view your desktop with no windows open and see if you see white dots. What I want to rule out is the possibility of some bad pixels on your monitor. Thanks for testing. :)

Do you by any chance have another computer that you can use for a while on your site to see if you see the white pixels? The image loads as a unit, so it is extremely unlikely this is a page/file loading issue on our end. If the entire file doesn’t load, the browser will not display any of it.
Also, if you have a second browser installed, such as Firefox or Chrome, try using one of those for a while and see if it occurs.
I know I’ve got you running around on this, but I just can’t think of anything on this end that would cause it. Your testing, though, does help a lot.

In truth, it’s not an issue, just a curiosity :) But I’ll fool with it and see what I see. It doesn’t happen consistently, which makes it harder to track. I’ve been watching carefully, I don’t ever see it on anything other than this blog, I haven’t even seen it on my other blog. And it’s only over the last few months, never before that.

I’ll mark this as resolved, but if you discover anything, feel free to mark this as unresolved and post your findings.
