White page when I go on my site

    Hi everyone,

    When I want to go on my website (http://www.aikidoouest.com or http://www.westislandaikido.net), a white page loads. It looks like it’s trying to connect (the loading circle in the tab from Chrome goes crazy), but doesn’t succeed. What is weird is that sometimes the site DOES appear. But more often than not, it doesn’t. I tried clearing my cache, using a different browser, using different computers/smartphones, etc.

    This is also the case when I want to log in to my account to make changes on the website for example. I don’t even have access to the back-end administrative part of my site.

    Your help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,
    Unfortunately, this isn’t the right WordPress forum to help with that problem. You appear to have a self-hosted sites using the WordPress.org software, but this forum is for blogs hosted here on WordPress.com. The two versions are different and have separate forums. Please post your question at the WordPress.org forum: https://wordpress.org/support/

    If you don’t have a username at that forum, you’ll need to register before posting. For more information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, visit: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Hi Micawbr,

    The site is actually not self-hosted at the moment. We did purchase the http://www.aikidoouest.com domain name from WordPress. For the http://www.westislandaikido.net domain, this is one that we already had (from our previous website) and that we are forwarding to the new one.

    This being said, I did post on the WordPress.org forum. This is what they wrote:
    “Apparently it gets stuck after <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://aikidoouest.wordpress.com/">, which is to be expected because this meta tag tells the browser to redirect to http://aikidoouest.wordpress.com/ after zero seconds. Yet http://aikidoouest.wordpress.com/ redirects back to http://www.aikidoouest.com. So, you’d need to remove that meta tag.
    If your blog is at WordPress.com, however, you may want to get help there. WordPress.org is for self hosted sites.

    If my site IS indeed hosted by WordPress.com, how do I go about resolving this?

    Thank you for the additional information. When I checked the name servers for aikidoouest.com, it shows several different ones: 

    ns1.hartwick.com
ns1.hay-net.net
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.hartwick.com
ns2.wordpress.com

    That’s a problem. For your site to work properly, all of those name servers need to be consistent with one host. Where are you wanting to host your sites? If you are wanting to host with WordPress.com, you would just have these in the list of name servers: 

    ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com

    To use a different host, you would use only the name servers they provide and remove the rest from the list.

    This also applies to westislandaikido.net.

    The name server information is something you update at the registrar where you purchased the domains.
