White Rabbit; is this a virus? I experienced an aggressive dialogue box.

Whilst uploading an image, the image was showing too small for the intended space, I was prompted to check the former image and make a comparison. Whilst doing so a dialogue box came up that gave me three seconds until total destruction. I didn’t respond and it stated that I was some sort of fool for not responding quickly enough. It stated that I was now in the power of the White Rabbit and that I should do as it said.
I turned of the connection and haven’t re-connected with the internet since on that machine. This happened last evening.Can you advise me please?
