white space between side by side photos
-
Does anyone know the code I can insert between side by side photos so that there is a thin line of white space between them?
I have two side by side photos here http://kathleeniscookinginmexico.wordpress.com/2010/07/26/making-mango-chutney-in-mexico/ with no white space. Not as attractive visually. My theme is 2010.If anyone can help, much thanks.

Add horizontal space, say 5, in the advanced mode of the visual image editor.
or in html, add style=”margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px;”

Thank you, 1Tess.
It’s perfect, thank you, it’s exactly what I wanted!
For future posts with side by side photos, would this be the procedure:
Insert 2 photos using Visual edit. Go to HTML edit and insert: style=”margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px;”, following your placement in the html code for the photos.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I moved from blogspot in April, where I got zero support. WordPress support is fantastic.

Kathleen,
If you are comfortable with html, then adding the margins is a fine way to go. Or you can do it from the Visual Editor (advanced settings) if you find learning a little html is intimidating.
I was html illiterate when I started, but have since learned about using tables, and that makes putting pictures in place much more precise. I wouldn’t suggest you must follow suit: I’ve been too obsessed with how my posts look sometimes at the expense of not putting a post up because it doesn’t look right…

Tess,
I went back to several earlier posts with side by side photos and inserted the code into html edit with success. I’m so pleased to learn how to do this. I even went to a post with 4 thumbnails pics and decreased the 5 pixels to 2 to put a very thin white line between all 4, and it looks so much better.
I think the easiest way to do this in the future will be to insert the 2 photos into Visual, then insert the code on html.
Bit by bit, I’m learning a few code tricks, and this one was major for me and my blog.
Muchas gracias!
